I have always had a love/hate relationship with NYC. The forty-three months that I spent there as a press correspondent were perhaps the most difficult of my professional life but, paradoxically, the most incredible. Everyone is running, just trying to make it. Daily life is tough but the energy spread throughout the city is phenomenal. It was almost like living on another planet. At times, I asked myself if there was something else outside, if the world didn’t end with the East River to the right and the Hudson River to the left.
