Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
Perched on the Southeastern rim of the Crater, the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is often heralded as the “Maasai Versailles” for its unique mixture of African and European design influences. Divided into three very exclusive camps, the Lodge’s simple mud-brick exteriors blend into the hillside, giving little indication of the splendor that awaits within. Each bungalow is a study in eclectic elegance where crystal chandeliers hanging from banana-leaf roofs mix easily with brocade footstools floating over gleaming hardwood floors. Giant red silk curtains pull back to reveal a breath-taking view of the crater that is best appreciated from the enormous porcelain bath. Guests are escorted by top-notch guides on the twice-daily game-drives and cosseted by private butlers to insure that their stay is an unforgettable one.
